Aims and Objectives

Ahilya Sangh has been formed to suitably equip women with the requisite physical and mental strength to counter any exploitation or to face any dire situation with courage and fortitude.
One of the objectives of Ahilya Sangh is to enable a woman to deal effectively with the customs and traditions detrimental to her as well as to the well–being of the society.

Ahilya Sangh is not a woman's liberation front but an attempt to ensure that no woman goes through the same fate as 'Ahilya'. For ages, Indian women have led a life akin to a life of a stone, like 'Ahilya' of Indian Mythology and have been mute sufferers of the injustice meted out to them, at the hands of a society. Ahilya of bygone era had to wait for a very long time till 'Lord Ram' came to her rescue and liberated her from her misery.

The Ahilya of today need not wait for anybody's help to end her sufferings. The mission of Ahilya Sangh is to make women acknowledge their own prowess, to guide them to become strong and self-dependent so that they can utilize their prowess and potential for their own benefit as well as for the benefit of the society. Thus she will be physically, mentally and emotionally strong.
